Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series – News for Sunshine Coast LandCruiser Lovers
Ken Mills Toyota Sunshine Coast – 300 Series LandCruiser Statement
Hello to all Sunshine Coast LandCruiser Lovers,
I am excited to hear all the enthusiasm sparked by rumours of the LandCruiser 300 Series being released in 2021. Personally, I can’t wait for the new model either!
I grew up holidaying with my family on Fraser Island in Dad’s 40 Series. Seatbelts weren’t compulsory and sand-driving was a hang-on-and-gun-it kind of affair. Then came the 60 Series which, with the introduction of the turbo variant, lifted the towing credentials of the vehicle and was a game changer.
I can still recall helping out at the launches of both the 80 and 100 Series at my Dad’s dealership. I owned my own Toyota Dealership when it came to the launch of the 200 Series.
I remember vividly the first time I drove one. It was mind blowing. The technical progress from the 100 Series to the 200 Series was nothing short of a quantum leap. And it has been my car of choice ever since.
So, having been involved with Toyota for a few decades (showing my age right now), I understand why the Sunshine Coast has a real love affair with LandCruisers. From the die-hard Double Island explorers to the “trip of a lifetimers,” these vehicles hit the spot.
Therefore, it is no wonder that rumours abound when it comes to the new Toyota 300 Series LandCruiser! I read all the online forums and I’m in the groups and following the speculation.
Here’s what we know about the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series
What has been released to us as a Toyota dealer is that there is a Global Embargo on information about a new model of the LandCruiser which is likely to be lifted when the car is revealed globally later this year.
However, I do know that Toyota Motor Corporation Australia (TMCA) understands the significance and importance this car will play as our flagship model in Australia. Globally, Australia is a significant market for the LandCruiser and as such, there has been significant input and testing by the TMCA team here in Australia.
As has been stated by TMCA, I would trust that this car will hit the mark in terms of the expectations of LandCruiser buyers. We have heard from some people who have seen the vehicle and the reports are certainly glowing. Think more power, more torque, and a truly capable 4WD with significant improvement on the inside.
The following are simply internet rumours about the new LandCruiser Series
- It will be released on 1 August, 2021 (and about twenty other “official” release dates)
- The new LandCruiser will only be available in petrol, it will have a 4-cylinder diesel variant, there will be a hybrid option – it’s all speculation (there is literally no info on tech specs yet)
- Australian Toyota Dealers know the price of the vehicle (nope!)
These are all simply rumours, because when something is this exciting, everyone wants to have the scoop. It’s great that people love the LandCruiser as much as I do. I too, am very excited at the prospect of a new model. But, sadly, there’s nothing official about the rumours being leaked out on every car blog on the internet. They’re all just rumours.
When will Toyota release official information about the new LandCruiser model?
Toyota Australia has promised to provide further information later in 2021. We are, of course, eagerly awaiting word! When we know, you’ll know. To be first to get the official word, leave your details here and we’ll make sure you’re first to know!
