Christmas is coming and it’s a much-needed holiday to enjoy the festive season on the Sunshine Coast. We at Ken Mills Toyota are grateful to make it to the end of what has been a challenging year, not only in our state but across our country.
But this time of year encourages a time to reflect on the year that has been. And 2021 was the year that kept giving with the uncertainty around the pandemic. The effects of COVID19 from 2020 were certainly experienced into 2021.
From lockdowns to supply and demand issues, to welcoming interstate residents transferring to the Sunshine Coast, and of course, toilet paper shortages, 2021 will be a year we won’t forget.
While it has been a year of ups and downs, there have been some incredible highs which the team have been able to participate in and they will be remembered fondly.
LandCruiser 300 Series
One key highlight for our team was the opportunity to drive the LandCruiser 300 series. The 2022 LandCruiser will be available for test drives on the Sunshine Coast here at Ken Mills. Be sure to contact the team for a test drive to learn what all the fuss is about. It will be all your Christmas dreams come true in a car. 2022 is looking a whole lot more awesome if the LandCruiser is part of your wish list!
Working with worthy causes to make a difference
It’s important to work with local causes to make a difference to the lives of others. Some of the team highlights have included being part of these causes. From team grants supporting local community initiatives, to foundations which are close to home protecting our most vulnerable, we proudly supported the following amazing organisations:
Our proudest moment for the year was being able to raise $120K for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. It’s a charity close to our hearts and believe there’s nothing more important than keeping our kids safe in the physical and online environment.
We welcomed the Hybrid Kluger to the fleet
Described as the car families have been waiting for, we welcomed the Hybrid Kluger to our fleet. It was super exciting to offer this option to families wanting to upgrade their car. More than just a “soccer mum car,” the Hybrid Kluger is all about comfort and offering a roomy drive for all members of the family - even the extra friends the kids invite along for the ride!
Our Ken Mills Toyota team grew!
As a business, our team grew and we welcomed new team members to our crew.
Our Nambour and Maroochydore dealerships have seen a steady flow of enquiries all year round. It’s been the year where buying a new vehicle has been impacted by delays due to overseas manufacturing – another COVID19 challenge. But our second-hand vehicle sales have seen an increased demand due to stock availability of new cars.
We have been grateful for the understanding of our customers, but more importantly, we are thankful Ken Mills Toyota has been the first-stop dealership for a new car purchase or family car upgrade.
Despite going through the ups and downs of supply and demand that has been the undercurrent of this year, we’re still a family business and families stick together.
So, from our family to yours, happy holidays! May the Christmas season be a reminder of what matters most during this festive period.
