TOYOTA GAZOO RACING NEWS

AUSTRALIA SHOWCASED GR YARIS AP4 AT FORMULA 1® HEINEKEN® AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2022 AND WORLD PREMIERE OF TOYOTA GR COROLLA DUE LATER THIS YEAR!

Plus, what is GR and can you buy one here on the Sunshine Coast?

Set to be launched in August, the all-new Yaris will be offered in Ascent Sport, SX and ZR grades - the latter two available with hybrid as well as petrol variants.

The current 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine will be replaced by an all-new 1.5-litre three-cylinder unit with high-speed combustion and other technologies that deliver more power and torque while using less fuel.

Ken Mills Toyota in partnership with Sunseeker Caravans and RACQ LifeFlight Rescue hosted a unique opportunity for Sunshine Coast locals last week with a Roadtrip Safety event at their Nambour Dealership. With Christmas and the school holidays just round the corner, many of us may be thinking about a roadtrip or even just camping locally and preparation is the key.

Toyota Motor Corporation has announced that Australians have bought more LandCruisers than any other country as the iconic vehicle brand passes 10 million global sales.

Local sales exceed 1.065 million vehicles, an impressive 10.6 per cent of the global tally that includes today's LandCruiser Prado, 70 Series and 200 Series and their predecessors.

LandCruiser is Toyota's longest-selling nameplate. It was originally launched in 1951 as the Toyota BJ and renamed LandCruiser in 1954 - 12 years ahead of the launch of another long-time customer favourite, Corolla.

LandCruiser is sold in approximately 170 countries and regions worldwide. In Australia, LandCruiser is used for mobility in zinc and copper mines some 1,600 metres underground; it is also used to herd cattle on vast cattle ranches of 8,000 sq. km; and it is a popular choice for city-based families.

In Africa, LandCruiser is used to provide humanitarian assistance: in Burundi, to carry malaria-infected children to hospital; and in refugee camps in Uganda, to transport patients to clinics.

In Costa Rica in Central America, there are regions where the LandCruiser is used to harvest carrots at altitudes of 3,500 meters, on slopes so steep that even humans have difficulty standing-the reason being that "only the LandCruiser is capable of reaching these fields."

Indeed, there are many places around the world where it would be impossible to live from day to day without the LandCruiser.

As a front-engine, rear-drive two-door sports coupe, the Supra' s visual appeal lies in the classic shape evoked by its long bonnet, compact swept back cabin and low beltline.

It's a design that not only makes reference to Toyota sports car heritage - such as the double bubble roof that appeared on the 1967 2000GT - but has been created specifically with the aerodynamic requirements and balance needed for high performance driving on the road and racetrack.

Underpinning its sports performance is a chassis that measures 2470mm in the wheelbase with wide front and rear tracks of 1594mm and 1589mm respectively1.

These dimensions have been specified to deliver what Toyota refers to as the "golden ratio" between wheelbase and width to provide superb responsiveness, stability and agile handling.

Overall length of the GR Supra stretches to 4379mm, with the car measuring 1854mm wide and just 1292mm in height1.

To deliver such a low overall height, and subsequently the low centre-of-gravity necessary for true sports performance, Toyota dropped the running ground clearance1 below its usual standard minimum of 130mm to just 119mm.

Ken Mills Toyota joins with Matthew Flinders Anglican College to get their hands dirty planting trees to celebrate Schools Tree Day on Friday 26 July.

The collaboration is part of Australia’s biggest community tree-planting and nature care event, National Tree Day, which takes place on Sunday 28 July. National Tree Day encourages communities to help preserve the environment for future generations.
